Built on Passion, Research, and Agriculture.
Danyka and Michael share a deep connection to nature, agriculture, and wellness. Danyka, a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Texas A&M University, developed a strong scientific background focused on plant health and quality. Her passion for research and natural processes has been a key part of the vision behind Matcha & Co.
Michael, meanwhile, grew up surrounded by the agricultural world, developing extensive knowledge of crops and agriculture in Puerto Rico from an early age thanks to his family’s background in the industry. He complemented that experience with studies in Agricultural Sciences, as well as Finance and International Commerce at the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao, combining a modern business perspective with a deep respect for the land and agricultural processes.
Together, they founded Matcha & Co., inspired by the purity, tradition, and benefits of ceremonial Japanese matcha. Their brand was born from the union of science, agriculture, and wellness, with a commitment to offering products of the highest quality while promoting a conscious, balanced, and sustainable lifestyle.
